Great Ocean Road
We depart Melbourne at 8:00am for a fantastic scenic road trip on Australia’s famous Great Ocean Road. We’ll pass stunning rugged coastal vistas and stop to marvel at the dramatic rock sculptures of the 12 Apostles. There are many more viewing points along the drive, including the mystical Bay of Islands and Southern Ocean outlooks. We’ll stop at the surfing-mecca Torquay and the world famous Bells Beach, before making our way to whale watching at Warrnambool.

Tower Hill to Coonawarra
In the morning we will visit Worn Gundidj at Tower Hill State Game Reserve, where our guide will introduce us to the flora, native wildlife and volcanic formations of the area. We move on to Port Fairy and marvel at the pristine coastal vistas, before crossing the South Australian border into Mt Gambier. Our route takes us to Coonawarra, a fine Australian wine region, where we will view the mysterious Blue Lake. We won’t continue until we’ve indulged in a little wine tasting, accompanied with a delicious dinner at Chardonnay Lodge.

We travel through Penola, birthplace of Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint. Penola is located in the Coonawarra wine region and is rich in history. We then head to Meningie and Adelaide, the gorgeous ‘City of Churches’. Meningie is the northern gateway to the Coorong and is set on the shores of the beautiful Lake Albert. Tonight we stay in the city of Adelaide, known as South Australia's capital.

Today’s first stop is the coastal town of Glenelg, before continuing on to the picturesque village of Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula. This afternoon you will enjoy a few hours of leisure time, to absorb the stunning scenery at your own pace. Take a walk to Granite Island for rewarding views over the coast. Later in the afternoon we will board a ferry to Kangaroo Island where we will stay two nights. A delightful dinner will be accompanied by stunning vistas overlooking the Backstair Passage.
Two Nights Accommodation: Aurora Ozone Hotel
Today we explore the exciting Kangaroo Island and Flinders Chase National Park for more fantastic photo opportunities of the vast wilderness area. The park features the spectacular Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, where you’ll see the New Zealand fur-seals at Cape de Couedic. We’ll make our way to Andermel Marron Farm, where we’ve been invited for a food and wine experience that captures all the special qualities of Kangaroo Island. Later in the afternoon, we’ll embark on a guided tour at Seal Bay Conservation Park and stroll amongst a colony of lounging sea lions.
Early this morning we say goodbye to Kangaroo Island and board the ferry back to the mainland at Cape Jervis. From here we head north, stopping at a few of Australia’s favorite wine regions, Barossa and Clare Valley. Then it is off to Adelaide, also known as the 20-minute city, as everything is within kilometers of the city center. Once in Adelaide you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
