Broken Hill to Avoca on Darling
We head to the outback town of Wentworth at approximately 8:30am. There are many points of interest we'll pass, including the historic river port and the Perry Sandhills, a unique land formation of constantly moving sand dunes. We'll choose a river as the setting for a packed picnic lunch, then we head to Avoca on Darling for our overnight stay.

We rise early this morning and after breakfast we head down the Darling to the historic river port of Pooncarie for morning tea at one of the quaint cafes by the old wharf. We'll step back in time with an interesting tour to the World Heritage listed Lake Mungo, where evidence of human occupation dates back over 40,000 years. Take in the truly stunning red landscape and learn about its strong aboriginal heritage. Evidence found here dates back well over 40,000 years to mans early occupation of this once much wetter area. The Upper Mungo unit contains burials over 36,000 years old. We check into our accommodation at Mungo Logde before heading to the 'Walls of China' to witness the change skies as the afternoon sun begins to set.

Today we continue exploring the Mungo National Park, before heading to the award winning Trentham Estate Winery for a BBQ lunch on the banks of the Murray River. Once lunch is over, we'll have a quick wander around the lovely town of Mildura, a mecca for riverboats and paddle steamers. Then, it's back along the Silver City Highway to Broken Hill where the tour concludes.
