Barossa - Adelaide
We spend the morning traveling through rural country side to the famous Barossa Valley. This spectacular region is home to Australia's largest wine companies along with many unique, small family run wineries tucked away in the Valley. The Barossa has cool summers and rainy winters which make it perfectly suited for red wine production, particularly Shiraz and richly flavored Cabernet. We will enjoy a morning tea at Collingrove Historical homestead before starting our winery tour. We will visit Yalumba winery; the largest family-run winery in Australia along with the South Australian Company Store. We will travel up to Menglers Hill to enjoy the view over the whole of the Valley. We will have a stroll through the historic town of Bethany and lunch at the Maggie Beers farm shop overlooking the dam. After lunch, take your time to wander through the town of Tanunda, the most German influenced of the villages of the Barossa. The “Gourmets” travelers will enjoy a private wine tasting at Peter Lehamann winery with local Barossa products. This is where our journey ends, we shall then return to Adelaide.
