The Ghan
Boarding The Ghan in Adelaide for Darwin, you'll have 2 nights aboard
this great train to marvel at the spectacular Australian landscapes;
from the rusty reds of the MacDonnell Ranges surrounding a town called
Alice, gateway to Ayers Rock and the Red Centre, then north to Tennant
Creek, Katherine and the tropical splendour of Darwin.
Off-train touring opportunities at Alice Springs and Katherine (extra cost
payable en route) provide the chance to explore the landscapes and encounter
some of the unique desert flora and fauna.
Guests are able to break their journey in Alice Springs and then rejoin
The Ghan to travel on to Darwin or Adelaide and pay only the regular Adelaide
to Darwin fare (conditions apply).

Platinum Service
Platinum Service is a new luxury level of train travel, like no other Australian
train accommodation. Platinum Cabins will be approximately twice the size
of our standard Gold Twin Cabins with each room offering:

Gold Kangaroo Standard Cabins:
- Choice of ensuite twin or single sleeper cabins.
- Twin sleepers feature comfortable 3 seater lounge converting to snug
upper and lower sleeping berths.
- 3 pin power point, wardrobes, full length mirror and reading lamp and
foldaway table.
- Complimentary toiletries and welcome kit.
- Single berth sleepers have most of the features of twin cabins however
toilets and showers are located at the end of each carriage.
Red Kangaroo
General information:
- Access to the Red Kangaroo Diner offering tasy meals and snacks for
purchase.
- Access to the Red Kangaroo Lounge offering relaxation and video
entertainment.
- Toilets and showers facilities at the end of each carriage.
Note: There are no single Red Kangaroo Cabins. Single passengers will be
assigned to share with another passenger of the same gender. Alternatively
single passengers may prefer to upgrade to a private single cabin in Gold
Kangaroo.
Red Kangaroo Cabins offer:
- Comfortable twinshare day cabin, converting to sleeping berths at night.
- Seating comprises two facing lounge chairs.
- Private washing facilities
in your cabin.
Red Kangaroo Daynighter Seating:
- Comfortable two abreast recliner arm chairs.
- Individual reading lights, footrest and generous legroom.
Motorail Service
Take your car on a holiday too!
- Roof racks, wind deflectors, louves etc., must be removed before loading.
- Height Restrictions apply.
- Length of towbar must be included in calculating total vehicle length.
- Caravans, including pop-tops and boats are not conveyed by Motorail.
- Vehicle must be roadworthy and capable of being driven onto carrier.
- Rates are available for accompanied and unaccompanied vehicles.
