Darwin - Northern Territory
Darwin is the Territory’s capital, clustered around beaches of Australia’s
largest harbour. Visitors enjoy a relaxed, tropical lifestyle, with wonderful
sunsets, city streets shaded by palms and flowering tropical shrubs. This
vibrant city is the ideal starting point for a Top End experience.
Museums, galleries, nightclubs, restaurants, a casino and a cinema complex
provide visitors with plenty of entertainment choices, while accommodation
varies from five-star international hotels to budget apartments and backpacker
stays.
However it’s the celebrated scenery, Aboriginal culture and teeming
wildlife that draw visitors from around the world. Darwin is more than a
great jumping-off point for tours of every imaginable variety - from bush
camping in ancient Arnhem Land, to retreats on remote areas such as the Cobourg
Peninsula- it’s a must to spend a few days here.
Getting around Darwin and its environs presents no problems. Besides luxury
coaches, visitors can travel by shuttle and even chauffeur driven limousine.
Those who prefer to drive themselves, can hire cars from a number of rental
