Tropical North - Queensland
Travel in the Queensland Tropical North extends from Cape York in the north
to the sugar fields of Tully and Ingham in the south and the Northern Territory
border in the west.
The Tropical North coastal areas offer a range of resorts, rainforests and
eco tours, barrier reef access, cruising and sailing, sport fishing, diving,
jet boating, hot-air ballooning, white water rafting at several sites, sea
kayaking and clear water canoeing.
Activities in the Cape York and gulf savannah regions are usually supervised
4WD safari style tours.
These tours last from a few days to a few weeks. They will typically offer
aboriginal cultures and lifestyles, wildlife, fishing, goldrush relics, Lawn
Hill National Park and off road adventures. This region boasts some of the
world's best fresh water and ocean fishing.
