South Australia is known as a state of festivals and of fine wine. More than half of Australia's wines are produced here. This is also the best place for those who are looking for contact with nature such as whale watching, canoeing and horse riding.

Some of the many upcoming events and festivals in Adelaide include:

  • Adelaide Fringe Festival, 27 February - 22 March
    Now an annual event, the Adelaide Fringe is renowned for fresh ideas, risk, imagination, spontaneity and fun. The Fringe has
    grown into the biggest arts festival in the country, on a world scale is eclipsed only by the Edinburgh festival.
  • Clipsal 500 19-22 March

    it the world’s greatest touring car event. It’s a four-day festival of motor racing and music with an atmosphere that simply
    can’t be beaten.
  • International Rugby Sevens 3 - 5 April
    Sixteen countries, three days, one big rugby festival. International Rugby Sevens Adelaide is like no other event.
  • Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival 11 & 13 April
    The renowned Easter Adelaide Hills picnic-style horseracing event, featuring the famous steeple chase.
  • Tastes of the Outback, 17- 26 April
    Outback pubs and country-style cafés present a long weekend of fabulous food, wine and entertainment that includes guided
    bush walks, astronomy tours, art exhibitions, live music and outdoor cinema.
  • Clare Gourmet Weekend 2 - 3 May
