Spend today exploring all that the area has to offer on a full day tour of the Fitzroy Crossing including the indigenous artworks at the local art centre and a 1 hour cruise of the Geikie Gorge. The gorge was created from the floodwaters of the Fitzroy River which carved its way through the Geikie Range and is cultural significance to the Aboriginal community.
Fitzroy Crossing to Kununurra
Explore the original town site including the legendary 1987 Crossing Inn which was provided accommodation and food for travelers. Or head out on to the Fitzroy River to try your luck at barramundi fishing. A long drive to Kununurra today (approx 7 hours) with plenty of sights to enjoy along the way. Stop in Halls Creek; the site of Western Australia’s first gold discovery in 1885, explore ‘China Wall’ which is located just outside of the town. The wall rises from the creek up over the hill, and you can see it in the distance as it winds its way over the rugged landscape for 15 kms. Arrive in Kununurra and stay for 2 nights.

Today will be an experience to be remembered! From Kununurra, you travel south over the Ord Irrigation area and view the Ord Top Dam, Kimberley cattle country and the vast expanse of Lake Argyle. Continuing on, you reach the Kimberley's famous Purnululu National Park, home to the beehive domes of the spectacular Bungle Bungle Range.
From here we return north via Argyle Diamond Mine, known as one of the world's largest diamond producers. Next, experience a graceful water landing as the floatplane descends for your remote island experience. Explore the remote and serene beauty of Lake Argyle and its wildlife before gliding above the gorges of the Ord River back to Kununurra. Overnight.
El Questro Wilderness Park
El Questro Wilderness Park is one of the world's most unique holiday destinations. The million acre park provides the perfect base to explore the untamed Kimberley region. Spend the day horse trekking, barramundi fishing, or take a scenic helicopter flight over this remote area which few have seen (own expense). Get in touch with a local Ranger and witness a huge variety of birds and animals – you may even spot a saltwater crocodile! Stay overnight at the Park.
Today is the final day of your Kimberley tour. You will depart Kununurra where your tour concludes. Kununurra is the gateway to the well known Gibb River Road route which leads to the Pilbara region on the west coast of Australia and the wonders of the Coral Coast.
