Recover from yesterday’s escapade with a free morning to explore Launceston. After lunch, drive west to the town of Devonport, known for its surf beaches and the gateway to Tasmania. Overnight.

Be prepared for another action packed day today as you will be whitewater rafting on the Mersey River. Because the Mersey River is hydro-released water, it is the most reliable white water course in Tasmania. Be thrilled by the challenging rapids on the 90 minute course, situated 85km south of Devonport. Even have a go at steering the raft yourself!

Stop off at Mount Field National Park and enjoy the outdoors with a 1.5 hour walk along the Lady Barron Falls Circuit Track. This lower altitude walk will take you past Russell Falls, Lady Barron Falls and the Tall Trees Walk, offering you an opportunity to sample the diverse plant and animal life that lies within the rainforest. Continue to Hobart and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the city. Stay 2 nights.

Today you will be traveling to the Huon Valley, perhaps taking a jet boat ride on the Huon river or simply exploring the area. Then explore the renowned Tahune Forest from above the treetops on the Tahune Air Walk. This visually spectacular walkway extends for almost 600m and gives you a birds eye view of the flora and fauna, as well as the beautiful Picton River. On your way back to Hobart you will journey through the apple and cherry orchards that surround the Huon Valley.
Relax with a half day southern wine tour to the Coal Valley region. Tasmania’s mild summers and long autumn days give the grapes a distinctive taste similar to those found in European wines. Taste wine from a range of vineyards such as Pooley Wines, Formore Creek and Puddleduck Vineyard as well as enjoying a cheese platter to end the day. Depart Hobart.
