Thredbo to Lakes Entrance
Leave the high country and make your way to the coastal town of Lakes Entrance. 45 minutes out of Lakes Entrance are the Buchan Caves. This honeycomb of caves were formed by underground rivers cutting through and dissolving the limestone rocks and forming amazing formations. Today you will be experiencing the Royal and Fairy caves which feature calcite-rimmed pools and amazing stalactites and stalagmites (own expense). Stay 2 nights Lakes Entrance.

Lakes Entrance to Wilsons Promontory (via Bairnsdale and Sale)
Travel to Bairnsdale in the Gippsland region. This town is a major gateway to the east of Victoria and sits on the banks of the Mitchell River. Visit the Krowathunkooloong Keeping Place for a taste of Aboriginal culture and history, or the McLeod Morass boardwalk for a spot of bird watching. Carry on to Sale where the striking design of the Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Centre will catch your eye. Finish the day in Wilsons Promontory, one of Victoria’s most popular national parks.
