After 4 years running other peoples trucks, Steve established his own successful African overland safari company, overseeing operations and logistics between London and some of the most challenging terrain in travel that there is. In 2003, Stephen returned to Perth and is now using his expertise as First Light Travel's Operations Manager.
Having travelled extensively living and working overseas as a ‘Flying Winemaker ’Amelia has experienced first hand the diverse range of grape growing regions throughout Australia. From the Barossa and Clare Valley Wineries of South Australia to the Margaret River Wineries of Western Australia. It’s not all about the wine though, Amelia has backpacked around Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas as well as 4WD tours to the Daintree and Kuranda in Queensland. She’s driven along the coast from Sydney to Rockhampton and eaten her way through the myriad of world class restaurants in Melbourne. Rediscovering her love of the pristine beauty of Australia in travels with her family, ensures others benefit from a ‘trip of a lifetime’ planned for them with precision.
Kasey has had a love for travel ever since she can remember. She has travelled to and from Australia more times than she can count. Nigel was born in Adelaide Australia and has been involved in tourism for over a decade. Working as a tour guide in Africa, Nigel literally enjoyed it so much that he decided to run the company - becoming the London based Operations Manager. After completing his MBA and spending three years as a Management Consultant, Nigel felt it was time to get back to the good life - travel!
Michelle’s love of travel began as an exchange student in the USA back in her teens, and since then she has travelled across the globe and worked in the travel industry for over twenty years. She considers New South Wales as being like her second home, after spending many years living in Orange, travelling extensively around the Blue Mountains and along the coast from Jervis Bay all the way up to Byron Bay you can understand why. Her colourful stories of living in the outback town of Broken Hill, holidaying in the Clare Valley region of Adelaide and visits to Western Australia and Victoria will have you wanting to start planning your journey to Australia right away.

Having explored the world, Rhodri soon placed Australia as one of his most favourite places to travel to. His adventures range from plucking sea cucumbers off the sea floor whilst diving on the Great Barrier Reef, to camping overnight on Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island, to sailing the Whitsundays. Along with these amazing experiences is one of seeing in the millennium from the famous Mrs Macquarie's Chair on a peninsula in the Sydney Harbour whilst watching the spectacular fire work display. Suzie is awestruck by Australia’s beauty and huge range of activities on offer. A keen diver she gained her Advanced Open Water Certificate on a live-board on the Great Barrier Reef. When she’s not exploring underwater you can find her courtside at the Australian Tennis Open in Melbourne, and with fifteen years previously in the wine industry, and a ‘foodie’ by nature, she also loves her ‘girls only’ shopping and dining trips to Sydney.

Chrissy is a regular at centre court in Melbourne to watch the famous Australian Tennis Open and loves the café culture, theatre and cosmopolitan feel that the city offers in abundance. Dmitry has been in travel industry since 1992. He started out in Russia as a guide for American travellers. In 2004 Dmitry finally settled in New Zealand. Since this time he has explored every corner of the country, either with clients or with his own family. Fishing, caving, rafting, walking, quad biking and doing the world’s highest bungee (134m) are amongst the activities he enjoys most.
After 14 years travelling throughout Africa, South America and Europe Deb decided to settle down for awhile in Australia. She loved her time living in Sydney and Tasmania and has travelled extensively around the rest of the continent with the highlight being snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns. Deb loves working in the travel industry and has spent time as a tour group leader and now customising independent trips for visitors to both Australia and New Zealand.
Judith comes from Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In 2004 she set out on a world trip, visiting all continents. When she arrived into Australia she didn’t leave a stone unturned covering 2,300 kilometres from Wilsons Prom National Park, all the way up to Cook Town, then to Darwin down to Esperance and Uluru. She’s even hitchhiked across the Nullarbor National Park! Judith loves the Aussies and says that their hospitality helped to make this trip her best one ever. A seasoned travel professional originating from Germany, Anne loves the ocean and can’t wait to explore the fascinating underwater world that Australia has to offer now that she has completed all her dive training. He owned an agency in London for 7 years (Global Connect Travel) running `high end' adventure tours in East Africa and diving holidays in the Red Sea, along with other activities and destinations around the world. Currently attempting to mountain bike all the back country tracks he can find and living to tell the tale!
With more than 30 years experience in the travel industry, there are not many places in Australia and New Zealand that Christine hasn’t visited. Amongst her long list of favourite places is staying at the exclusive resort in Wolgan Valley between the Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone National Park, within the World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains. She also has amazing memories of star gazing and sunrise tours at the majestic Ayers Rock. Christines love of Australia’s exceptional food and wine has her visiting the vibrant cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Noosa and Perth whenever she can. Back in her early twenties Toni set off to explore new destinations, from South East Asia, to Europe and then to Australia where she ended up living for seven years. What she loves the most after having travelled from one coast to the other is the diversity of the countries landscapes. Australia really does have it all with its world class surf beaches and wine growing regions, the lush tropical rainforests and vibrant cities with their incredible art galleries and eclectic range of shops and restaurants. Shirin migrated to NZ in 2002 from India to complete her Diploma in Travel & Tourism. She then moved to Australia and absolutely loved living in Sydney and also visiting the many other vibrant cities on her many getaways. Shirin and her husband have always loved travelling, their favourite thing to do is to visit the local farmers markets so that they can meet the locals, taste the local food as well as feed their hunger for food photography. Upon completion of her degree in the UK, Narissa embarked on a round the world trip landing in Australia for the first time in 2013. After living on Australia’s East Coast and with the South Pacific well and truly cementing the travel bug in place, Narissa moved to New Zealand where she now proudly calls home. Using her unique experience as both a tourist and a local, Narissa now dedicates her time to personally curate the dream itinerary guaranteed to create memories of a lifetime.
Anatholy’s vast experiences in the hospitality industry makes him a perfect fit for his accounts role at First Light Travel. Being in the tourism industry for more than a decade in Dubai, the middle east tourism capital of the world. Anatholy also loves travelling and has travelled in some countries in Asia like Thailand, Hongkong, China and Philippines and would now want to explore the beautiful New Zealand and Australia. He believes that everybody needs a break from work and travelling is one of the most enjoyable and an unwinding escape from a busy work place.
Ambitious Natasya Zambri comes from Malaysia, worked her way to earn scholarship and pursue dreams in New Zealand because NZ is her initials and destiny. A recent graduate from the University of Auckland majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law but aspire to be a business woman. Lived in Shanghai for 5 years and started travelling at a very young age. Enjoys travelling, baking and writing poetries and so believes New Zealand is the best place to do all three. The environment has really given her new and exclusive exposure, perspectives and endless possibilities.
After graduating from his Business Studies course in Paris, Floyd swapped European city living for a laid-back Kiwi lifestyle… and he hasn’t looked back. Beginning as a trainee, his passion for New Zealand Tourism has brought him on board with First Light Travel full-time as our Assistant Website Publisher, keeping up the flow of high-quality content on our site. Having extensively travelled Northland and the Bay of Islands, he hopes to head over the ditch soon to see Australia's stunning attractions for himself.
Caroline’s love of travel was inspired by her parents journeys on their way to settle Downunder in the 1960’s. They instilled in her a passion for discovering new places and she grew up holidaying all over New Zealand before venturing off on her own ‘O.E.‘ to discover the world . Settling back home she’s continued her travels through New Zealand and Australia and loves finding the best places to watch the sunset with a glass of wine in hand Having worked for many years in customer service and in the operations side of tourism she’s bringing those skills, and experiences into her Product Manager role for us.
After practicing her nursing career in the Philippines, Therese ventured off to becoming an air hostess for one of the world’s best airlines for over 4 years. There, she was able to develop her love and passion for the travel and tourism industry. Having travelled to 60 countries, and being the go-getter that she is, she decided to pursue her passion and now calls New Zealand home. A bonafide water baby, Western Australia remains as one of her favourites because of its beautiful beaches – but she still hopes to come back and meet a Quokka one day! After earning her Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management in Auckland, she is now ready to share her wealth of knowledge and experiences with what Australia has to offer.
Natalie is Canadian born (Vancouver Island), has lived in USA, Australia and New Zealand has been home now for the last 15 years. After travelling the country extensively she has settled in the beautiful lakeside town of Wanaka and makes the most of the natural surroundings out hiking or horse riding in her spare time. Born in bred in New Zealand Michelle loves to travel to unwind. Her favourite memories from Australia come from the 12 months spent living and working in Melbourne and exploring Tasmania with a 6 month old baby in tow. Michelle believes that the diversity that Australia offers from busy cities to epic outdoor adventures means it has something for everyone and she looks forward to exploring the remaining two states that she hasn't visited yet. After having worked in the IT industry for 30 years Michelle now focuses on making First Light Travel's systems even better.

As part of her work experience she was placed in Port Douglas and she fell in love instantly.
