Dear Kasey,

Thank you so much, for putting together our trip to WA. We had a wonderful time. Everything was well arranged right from the start. We had a perfect pick up at the airport and a nice hotel in the middle of the centre in Perth. All the accommodations were good, it was each time a surpise to see and find out where we would sleep. Almost all the accommodations where in or near the city centre, so easy to go out for a walk and have dinner.

The Maragret Discovery Tour and the Cape le Grand tour was fantastic. The local guides showed us beautiful places and could tell us a lot from the place and its history In Kalgoorlie we booked the Super Pit Tour. It is advisable to prebook this tour, we were lucky there was a cancellation in the morning, otherwise only two of us could join the tour.

At Rottnest Island we had a really special and wonderful host, Irene. A lady from over 80! We really liked her company, but I think it is not necessary to have a host at Rottnest. I think we were the only, walking around with a host.

We took loads of pictures. I included some, so you have an idea of our trip.

WA is a beautiful part of Australia.

Cheers,

Perth is Western Australia’s vibrant riverside capital, a city with an easygoing lifestyle and friendliness second to none. Perth flanks the broad reaches of the Swan River 19km upstream and is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Darling Range to the east.

Accessing Perth’s major attractions is simple thanks to a free public transport system within the city centre, the CAT bus. Museums, galleries, boutiques and department stores are all within walking distance of most city hotels. Kings Park, Perth’s most visited attraction, offers a sweeping view of the city skyline and the Swan River. With 400 hectares of natural Australian bush land and botanic gardens, Kings Park is a great place for bushwalking, bike riding or a picnic and is also home to the annual Wildflower Festival held in September.

Five minutes walk from the Perth Tourist Centre located opposite the Central Rail Station, is the Perth Cultural Centre. The State Art Gallery and Museum are both located here and continually host international exhibitions. This area is known as Northbridge and boasts every cuisine imaginable in a strip of cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs.

Barrack Street Jetty is located directly in front of the City and from here visitors can join a cruise to Fremantle, Rottnest Island, upstream to the Swan Valley wine growing region or across to the Perth Zoo.

Locations
Perth City

Embrace the best of both worlds in Perth, where soft-sand beaches and scenic parks meet a thriving metropolis of small bars, creative restaurants and curated street art. Nature and urban life exist in harmony in Perth, on Australia's west coast. Here, where the locals soak up more sunny days than in any other Australian capital city, you can visit nearby Rottnest Island, walk in leafy Kings Park and experience Swan Valley's vineyards, Aboriginal art, food and history.

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is just offshore from Perth and where the locals go to swim at white-sand beaches, snorkel in turquoise water over coral gardens and shipwrecks, or kick back and go fishing. Rotto, as it's called locally, is a car-free zone, which adds to its relaxed feel. And with 63 sheltered beaches to choose from, the island is refreshingly uncrowded. Hiring a bike is the best way to get around and find those secluded beaches and secret surf spots on the other side of the island.
