Yorke & Eyre Peninsula

Eyre Peninsula
Nallabor Plains
Great Australian Bight

Renowned for their cruisy atmosphere and laidback lifestyle, the beaches of Yorke Peninsula are great places to go swimming, surfing, fishing or on a family picnic. Innes National Park is an amazing place to visit - serene, yet full of wildlife, with bushland, rugged cliffs and secluded ocean beaches.

The Eyre Peninsula is also home to national parks, ancient caves, and the Nullarbor - the vast, treeless plain that has fascinated anyone with an explorer's spirit, ever since the area was discovered. There are charming seaside accommodations and mouthwatering local seafood - so there's no shortage of creature comforts.

The Great Australian Bight or open bay is off the central and western portons of the southern coastline of mainland Australia. Much of the bight lies due south of the expansive Nullabor plain which straddles South Australia and Western Australia. The Eyre Highway passes close to the cliffs of the bight between the Head of the Bight and Eucla.

Locations
Port Lincoln

Perched on the edge of the Eyre Peninsula, Port Lincoln peers out over Boston Bay and keeps an eye on the tide. Catch and cook your own seafood feast or let the experts get to work at chic restaurants and marina-side diners. There are plenty of other ways to experience Port Lincoln’s waters: go yachting, cage diving with sharks or swimming with seals. Landlubbers can have wildlife encounters, too. Check out national parks, conservation areas, and bushland campgrounds.

Port Augusta

Crossroads of Australia and Gateway to the Flinders Ranges, the outback and the Gulf"  Port Augusta is situated on the quiet waterways at the head of the Spencer Gulf, in close proximity to the spectacular Flinders Ranges. Off to the west and south-west lie a range of hills which once marked the territory of the Nukunu Aboriginal tribe, and to the north-west are two remarkable flat-topped mounts, peacefully lying underneath the sky's vast blue canopy. Port Augusta offers all the conveniences and facilities expected from a modern city.
