Mermaid Leather

Mermaid Leather is the only specialised fish and shark leather tannery in the country. Visit their factory located in the Museum Village to learn how skins from the fish processing food industry are being recycled. You can watch the process of transforming skins of wild-caught and farmed barramundi, snapper, groper, and shark into sustainable leather accessories and take home some unique souvenirs. Free guided tours of the studio are offered Tuesday through Sunday between 2 pm and 5 pm.

Aunty Joan’s Dolly Mix

If you are looking for a child-friendly activity in Esperance, make sure to stop by Aunty Joan’s Dolly Mix, located in the heart of the town. This non-profit museum features an impressive collection of over 1,000 porcelain dolls ranging from classic Victorian to contemporary ones. The museum is open daily from 1 pm to 4 pm and all proceeds from admission are donated to local charities.
